Gibbs Legacy: An Introduction

This is the story of the Gibbs family. This family is a matriarchy. An heiress and a spare is always produced to ensure the family line does not stop. Other family members are moved to other houses once they are married and pregnant (or impregnated someone). The heiress stays on the legacy lot of course, until they die.

Family trait: Flirty (this is actually to make it easy for me to lure prospective mates and ensure babies are on the way!)

Occupation: will try to rotate all the occupations around all the Gibbs heiresses to make it more fun :) No two heiresses will have the same job!

Names: Per generation, I am naming them alphabetically. Also to help me keep track of which generation they are already in.

8: Moving Out, Moving On

Bradley turned into a senior citizen even before the youngest was born. I guess he was older than Ashanti.
That didn't stop him from going all lovey dovey all over Ashanti. She really was the love of his life. Even if he was only second best in her eyes.

A few days later, while Ashanti was painting in the backyard, she felt pinpricks at the back of her neck. She knew something was terribly wrong. She told her daughter Bree who just shrugged it off as superstitious nonsense.
"No! A cold life force is in the house. We have to stop him!" she screamed before wheeling towards the house.

Ashanti rushed to the bedroom. But she was too late. Bradley had become a ghost begging for his life back. Death had finally taken him.

While Ashanti could never love Bradley the way she loved Charlie, she had loved him in her own way. And losing him so suddenly and unexpectedly really hurt.

She grieved for days. But life had to go on for their family. She had four daughters and a son to take care of.

The older twin girls became full adults.

Brett had a birthday to become a child...
Oopss..something went very wrong with the cake. Brandi was suddenly worried that the baby was in trouble. The cake had gone out of control ...
And almost burned the whole house down. Thanks to the quick actions of Bianca's latest squeeze Kevin (yes the housekeeper), their legacy home suffered minor damages only.

Bree got married to a visiting exchange student from France. His name was Elliott. Knowing she will never get her mom's nod to become the Gibbs heiress, she moved out with little sister Bella and husband Elliott.

Bianca found herself with child. Hmm not sure why she was thinking of her sister Brandi while pregnant.

Unfortunately this was not her betrothed's child. She had a one night stand with a storekeeper in France whom she never thought to see again. She probably never would but he did leave an indelible mark in her life -- a child.

But like mother, like daughter. She did the first thing every practical woman does when faced with this situation. She married her current boyfriend...

..Then immediately shuffled him to bed...

Amazing. She really is her mother's daughter.

Speaking of her mother, Ashanti aged beautifully as well.
She had more time on her hands now. And with the family's huge bank account and collection of masterpiece paintings, she need not worry about their future finances. Her grandchildren were her priority now. This is her with Bree's eldest child Guadalupe.

Even without Bradley, she still tried to maintain the eat-as-a-unit rule with the kids remaining in the household. (Brett, Brandi and Bianca).
And Ashanti tried to get to know her son in laws as well. She found it quite handy that Bianca married the help. They now had someone to clean their house everyday...for free!

These Gibbs women are pragmatic at the very core. I leave you with this picture of their foyer whose centerpiece is a wooden statue created by Bree. She might have left the legacy home to start a new life with Eliott. But her works of art have helped define the Gibbs Manor.
